Right on! It was sad and annoying to me that as I got close to my goal weight, people around me said “Well, you were never that heavy” (at 50 lbs overweight, with a pot belly). When two-thirds of adults get used to an unhealthy “normal,” you have to set your own expectations.
Well said, sir! Our society is really messed up. On one hand you have overweight people who think that it’s the “norm” and then you have media and magazines that have labeled womens size 12 & 14 as “plus size”. It’s a crazy mixed signal and no wonder people yo-yo diet and end up heavier than they started out.
